Tribe of Naphtali A CALMING PRESENCE
The 8th son the in family, Naphtali was represented on the Priestly Breastplate by the Spinel. Much like Naphtali, his tribal stone contains positive energy, a neutralizer of sorts, a calming presence that stands for peace and harmony. An example of that is Naphtali was credited with helping his mother achieve status of wife to Jacob, after initially being referred to as handmaid. The Agate is a fitting testament to his nature.
During the infamous deathbed blessings of Jacob, Naphtali was likened to a doe (female deer) which is quick and graceful on its feet, while in the same vain described as having a way with words with a knack for the arts, as it’s written: “Naphtali is a hind let loose, which yields lovely fawns” (Genesis 49:21). The majestic Spinel features a unique blend of asymmetrical patterns, and its harmonious qualities are a reminder of its important place in the Priestly Breastplate.
